Inspiration

“Writing is thinking. To write well is to think clearly. That’s why it’s so hard.” David McCullough, Humanities, July/Aug. 2002, Vol. 23/No. 4

Work

I write mysteries, novels, short stories, and lifestyle pieces. As a strategist and trained ethnographer, I advise nonprofit clients across the U.S.

I’ve held a variety of professional positions in nonprofit management, serving as front-line fundraiser and national consultant. My focus area began as museums, but has now widened to include environmental and social service clients. In that capacity, I’ve written strategies, white papers, grant proposals, and marketing materials.

Based on my work and travels, I’ve written a two-book mystery series set in Sicily (now out on submission) and placed my first short story in a prominent literary magazine. My latest novel, a magic-realism view of the pandemic in Italy, is underway.

I live in Virginia, but am available to travel for longer consulting engagements.
